About

I am a Black American visual artist, public health professional, and mom born and raised in Miami, Florida.

My objective is increasing awareness and capacity of communities served, to be empowered in making informed decisions about their individual and collective selves. This includes serving the majority of my life as a member of Sellers Memorial United Methodist Church, where messages and acts of liberation, justice, and love continue to inspire my work; serving 20 years in public health, where integration of design and art has become fundamental in my approach to health promotion; and serving my lifetime as an artist, using traditional and digital art mediums ongoing to explore and present themes that prioritize representation and relationship with self, community, and spirit.

I strive for Kuumba--the sixth principle of Kwanzaa meaning "creativity", and defined as "to do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it."
