Hey Artist!    Thank you for your interest in BreastfeedMIAMI's 4th Annual Art of Breastfeeding Exhibition! 

ABOUT US: BreastfeedMIAMI, Inc. is a nonprofit coalition to educate, support and promote breastfeeding.  This collaborative of 21 community partners prioritizes empowering mothers, fathers, partners, and families to breastfeed children as the gold standard for infant feeding and nutrition throughout Miami-Dade County. 

Art of Breastfeeding is our visual campaign to #NormalizeBreastfeeding with #NoInhibitions, and to affirm that #BlackFamiliesBreastfeed.  Artistic expression is used to celebrate the beauty and diversity of breastfeeding, pump-feeding, and chest-feeding families in Miami-Dade County.  Our annual exhibition is cohosted Live Healthy Miami Gardens, City of Miami Gardens, and Jessie Trice Community Health System; and cocurated by Paul Scott aka Digital Lotus of Gallery Diaspora.

SUBMISSIONS & SELECTION: Artists may submit visual artwork in any form, style, and medium (oil, charcoal, photography, digital, body art, etc.), as well as other creative entries (poetry, dance, music, drama, cinema, etc.) that feature breastfeeding, pump-feeding, or chest-feeding families and scenes.  Visual artwork will be prioritized. 

Artists are welcome to reference photographs from the Colors of Breastfeeding—our photoshoot featuring breastfeeding women and families of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, found on www.BreastfeedMIAMI.org .  Submission deadline is Sunday, September 22, 2024 @ 11:59PM.  You will be notified if your artwork or other creative expression is chosen.

EXHIBITION & ANNOUNCEMENT: Award recipients will be announced during the Art of Breastfeeding Exhibition on Saturday, October 19th @ 11AM-3PM at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex (3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056:

• 1st Place - Cover art feature on BreastfeedMIAMI 2025 calendar; Article feature on BreastfeedMIAMI website.
• 2nd Place - Prominent artwork feature in BreastfeedMIAMI 2025 calendar.
• 3rd Place - Prominent artwork feature in BreastfeedMIAMI 2025 calendar.
